FIRST Robotics Teams in the Carroll County Area: Robotics for All
Since the formation of the Robo-Lions (FRC Team 2199), our focus has been on expanding access to competitive robotics for all interested students in our area. Though all the teams are currently part of FIRST, they vary greatly in season schedule, cost and commitment.
PIE3 supports teams in different ways. Some teams are closely associated with PIE3 and use the Carroll County Center for Robotics and Engineering (CC CORE) to meet, and some are large enough to remain open to new members most of the year. Others meet in a private home, but may use materials loaned by PIE3; they may have limited ability to add new members and could meet only part of the year depending on the season for their program. Many teams are affiliated more loosely under specific agreements developed to fit the circumstances. Public school teams share some resources or may work together with PIE3 for outreach and activities, and for specific grants.
